Dr. Kate Threlfall
As a therapist for families, couples, adults, adolescents, and children, Dr. Threlfall strives to support desired changes with empirically validated treatments, a relational framework, systemic interventions, and post-modern approaches. A compassionate and collaborative clinician experienced with diverse populations she holds a deep respect for all cultural backgrounds, lifestyle choices, and identities.
Dr. Threlfall holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Child and Family. Her research interests revolve around early intervention, the transition to parenthood, and father involvement. She enjoys working with family systems and couples experiencing conflict and those healing from trauma. Originally from San Francisco, Dr. Threlfall continues to serve on the board of directors for a leading non-profit pre-school. She is passionate about the intersection of education and psychology. With an extensive background in early childhood education Dr. Threlfall is attuned to the needs of young children and their families. She continues to blend her passion for academia with her clinical work. She teaches Family Systems as an adjunct professor, serves as a clinical supervisor, and sits on dissertation committees for doctoral students here in Hong Kong. Dr. Threlfall attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate work and the California School of Professional Psychology for her doctorate. She is an active member of AFTA, American Family Therapy Academy.
