Jean is an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, fluent in Cantonese and English. Jean is a graduate from the University of Sydney, Australia with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology and is certified by the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) in the UK as well as the Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists. Before moving to Hong Kong, Jean most recently worked in London with the UK National Health Service, providing assessments, reviews and therapy at health centres and schools focusing on children.
She liaised closely with teachers and parents to support students with communication, speech and language difficulties, implementing the Total Communication approach. She also worked in hospitals and nursing homes to support adults with communication and swallowing difficulties. Originally from Sydney, Jean practiced with the Australian Department of Aging, Disability and Health Care, providing services in one-to-one clinic settings, pre- and primary schools, childcare centres, family homes and disability centres. Jean’s clinical expertise lies in working with clients with special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Downs Syndrome.
She has particular interests in early intervention, speech sound disorders, specific language impairment and autism. Jean has international training in the following:

Jean is passionate in supporting and optimizing functional communication, speech and language for people of all ages in a supportive and friendly environment. She will be available for assessments and therapy at Island Health and Central Health clinics by appointment.
