Liz Starkey

Counsellor, MA

Ms Starkey began her career working as an ICU and psychiatric nurse, but since she completed a Master’s in Counselling in 2014, she has been working as a private practice counsellor. She holds a license as a Mental Health Counsellor and is a Qualified Supervisor for Mental Health Counselling interns in Florida, USA.

 

In her practice Ms Starkey works with English-speaking adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate stressful life adjustments including culture shock, family stress, and work/school stress. Her training as a nurse gives her a unique perspective on the mind-body connection and how clients experience the symptoms of their mental distress in their bodies. She has developed a specialty treating PTSD stemming from both childhood trauma and recent traumatic events, and also has experience helping clients with issues like depression and anxiety.
