Dr. Florence Yeung
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Florence Yeung is a UK-trained Clinical Psychologist who holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) from the University of Hertfordshire, a Master of Clinical Mental Health Sciences and a PGCert in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Interventions from University College London, and a Bachelor of Psychology from King’s College London. She is a registered member of both the Hong Kong Institute of Clinical Psychologists (HKICP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, UK), and has published research in BMC Psychiatry.
Dr. Yeung has worked across a wide range of settings including child and adolescent mental health services, adult community mental health teams, inpatient psychiatric wards, and neurological and cardiac rehabilitation. She works with children, adolescents, and families experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional and behavioural difficulties, trauma, and neurodevelopmental conditions (ADHD, autism), as well as relational and parenting challenges. She also works with adults facing depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, personality difficulties, and life transitions. Dr. Yeung believes in meeting each person where they are, drawing on a flexible, evidence-based approach that combines practical strategies with deeper exploration of emotions, relationships, and family dynamics. She has a special interest in attachment and how early relationships shape the way children and adults learn to cope, understanding behaviour not as a problem to fix, but as a response that made sense within its relational and cultural context. She is trained in the Meaning of the Child Interview (MotC), a specialised assessment that helps parents understand how their caregiving style influences their child’s attachment and emotional development in a compassionate and empowering way.
Dr. Yeung is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
Having grown up in Hong Kong and trained in the UK, Dr. Yeung brings a deep understanding of both Eastern and Western values to her work. She is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate the unique strengths and challenges of diverse cultures in Hong Kong.
Outside of the therapy room, she enjoys playing tennis to stay active, as well as staying connected with her friends and family through various social events.
