Comprehensive Developmental Evaluation

Using an interdisciplinary approach. the Childhood Development Team (CDT) has created a unique assessment designed for toddlers and preschool aged children.

The comprehensive developmental evaluation helps caregivers and educators better understand the child’s strengths and areas for growth.

Components of the assessment:

  • Cognitive development
  • Executive functioning
  • Social and emotional development
  • Language and literacy development
  • Creative development
  • Motor development

The lead psychologist will first determine the appropriate tests and the CDT team members that will be involved in the evaluation based on your child’s needs (speech and language therapist, occupational therapist, paediatrician and/or psychiatrist). We work closely with caregivers and educators to ensure that the child is getting the most out of the evaluation. Our team of psychologists are experienced professionals who are fully qualified and licensed in their country of training.

How do I know if my child needs an assessment?

  • They are of preschool age (5 years or under)
  • There may be concerns related to developmental milestones
  • There is a lack of language development or acquisition
  • There are concerns with expressive language delay (expressive language is how we communicate our needs with others using words or gestures)
  • They have been referred from school to guide accommodations
  • To better understand your child’s learning or development needs
  • They shows signs of exceptionalism or giftedness

We conduct the evaluation in the morning to ensure we are assessing the child’s true ability and potential.
